Certificate III in Individual Support

The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support is a nationally recognised qualification that prepares you to work in aged care, disability, and community support settings. This course provides the practical skills and knowledge needed to deliver person-centred care, including assisting with daily activities, supporting individualised plans, promoting independence, and ensuring safety and wellbeing. With a strong focus on dignity, respect, and quality of life, the qualification opens the door to rewarding careers where you can make a real difference in the lives of others.

Guaranteed Work Placement at Minda

This qualification includes 120 hours of work placement. As a student with the South Australian Learning Centre, you will be guaranteed a placement with Minda, meaning you will not need to organise your own placement.

South Australian Government Subsidy

Government funding may be available for this qualification through a subsidy for eligible students. Program Details

Course duration: 24 weeks (including a 120-hour facilitated placement at Minda)

Funded Course fee: $520 / $450 Concession*

*This course is subsidised for applicants who meet the eligibility requirements and are employed under a training contract. For those not employed under a training contract, the Government of South Australia does not currently provide subsidies for this qualification through private registered training organisations.

Full Fee: $2,595 (for those not eligible for funding)

Incidental Fees: $71.00 NDIS worker check

Fees include:

  • Manual Handling for Carers training certificate
  • Textbook and all learning materials
  • Depending on your chosen elective stream, either HLTAID011 Provide First Aid or HLTHPS006 Assist clients with medication will be included as part of your course fees.  

Units of Competency

The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support includes nine (9) units of competency and six (6) electives.

All Group A electives must be selected for award of the Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing).

All Group B electives must be selected for award of the Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability).

All Group A and all Group B electives must be selected for award of the Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing and Disability).
