Mental Health First Aid

Mental health challenges are more common than many people realise. Around 1 in 5 Australians experience a mental health problem in any given year.
That means most of us will know someone, whether it’s a family member, friend, colleague or neighbour, who is experiencing a mental health problem, even if we don’t always recognise the signs.
Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) equips you with the knowledge and practical skills to recognise when someone may be developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. You’ll learn how to approach supportive conversations, provide initial assistance and connect the person with appropriate professional and community support.
Whether you’re a manager, team leader, support worker, teacher, volunteer, or simply want to be better prepared to support those around you, MHFA gives you the confidence to make a real difference when it matters most.
