Meet Deb! She is one of SALC’s Certificate III in Individual Support and Certificate IV in Disability Support trainers. She also delivers CPI Safety Intervention training to Minda’s workforce, helping staff build the practical knowledge and skills they need to safely and effectively support people.
While Deb is the newest trainer on the SALC team, she’s actually no stranger to the business. She actually worked here around 10 years ago, which means she was part of SALC before any of the current team!
Deb brings more than 20 years of hands-on experience in the disability sector. She’s also a highly qualified educator, with teaching qualifications and a Master of Disability Studies. Importantly, Deb continues to work part-time as a disability support worker, so her learners benefit from someone who understands both the theory and what actually happens on the job.
When she’s not training, Deb enjoys getting out on her bike and cycling.
She brings plenty of energy, experience and a genuine passion for the disability sector to her work and we’re very glad to have her back at SALC and as part of the team!
